CEO and Founder, LaHura L. Larkin

LaHura L. Larkin is a certified, middle school teacher and educational consultant. Her primary research interests are educational outcomes and financial literacy; to promote endless opportunities in higher education. Specifically, she focuses on the college readiness process by empowering students and families by integrating a multifaceted hands-on approach for twenty-first-century learners. Throughout Ms. Larkin’s seventeen years in academia, she has served as the Disability Student Services Coordinator for Albany State University. She developed educational strategies for students with disabilities to improve academic performance outcomes.

In 2009, Ms. Larkin was selected by the ASU administration to join a leadership program called Dougherty Leadership Institute (DLI). In addition, at Albany State University, Ms. Larkin served on various committees such as Veteran Affairs, Financial Aid Appeals, Housing and Residence Life, and Judicial Affairs. In 2010, Ms. Larkin became a test administrator for the ACT, SAT, GRE, Compass, LSAT, PCAT, and MCAT. Additionally, Ms. Larkin served as the liaison for the Special Olympics for Albany and Southwest Georgia. She attended national educational conferences, from 2007-2012, such as the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) National Conference—sponsored by the University of Connecticut.

Ms. Larkin is an alumna of the “Unsinkable” Albany State University where she holds both a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Science with a minor in Education, as well as a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy and Healthcare Administration. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Ms. Larkin has one son, Xavier.

We start advising 11th-grade students and their parents to begin college tours, take their standardized exams (ACT and SAT), and develop leadership skills in various extracurricular activities (e.g., academic organizations, sports, community service-based organizations). We have helped community partners increase small businesses, by using technology to strategically market their products and services. In addition, we have aided community partners in improving their workflow efficiency by helping them to implement the latest cost-effective technology.
